Advantages of low-density fiberboard

Wet areas in home decoration refer to: Bathroom dry areas, washbasin backing walls, balconies, bay windows, interior walls on the first floor, basements, areas around kitchen sinks, the outer side of shower partition walls, damp pipe shafts, and other moisture-prone spaces.

 1. The Core Advantage: Inorganic Material Provides Natural Moisture and Mold Resistance — No Water Absorption, Swelling, or Rotting Fiber cement boards contain no organic components, which means mold has no nutrients or surface for growth. In poorly ventilated hidden areas such as under washbasins, behind balcony laundry cabinets, and inside bathroom partition walls, they effectively prevent recurring black mold growth, reducing unpleasant odors and potential health risks.

 2. Extremely Lightweight — Safer for Wet Area Light Steel Frame Structures Most wet area partition walls are built with light steel frames. The significantly lower weight of low-density fiber cement boards reduces long-term load stress on the steel structure, helping prevent problems such as frame bending, screw loosening, wall sagging, and deformation over time.

  3. Excellent Flexibility and Dimensional Stability — Less Cracking Under Moisture and Temperature Changes Bathrooms experience frequent cycles of heat, cold, and humidity, making wall substrates highly vulnerable to cracking, especially at board joints. Compared with high-density fiber cement boards and calcium silicate boards, low-density fiber cement boards offer better flexibility and impact resistance. They are less likely to chip or break when used for curved wall corners, curved splashback edges around washbasins, or curved finishing details on bay windows.

 4. Class A Non-Combustible Fire Protection — Higher Safety Margin in Kitchen and Bathroom Areas Areas such as under kitchen sinks, beside exhaust ducts, behind water heaters, and around wall-mounted boilers are wet areas that may also be exposed to heat sources. As an inorganic A1-class non-combustible material, fiber cement board does not burn when exposed to fire and does not release toxic smoke, providing much better safety performance than combustible materials such as wood-based boards. 5. Formaldehyde-Free and Environmentally Friendly — Healthier for Enclosed Damp Spaces Wet areas are often relatively enclosed with limited ventilation. Fiber cement boards are made from inorganic mineral materials and release no harmful substances. They provide a healthier and safer solution for long-term use in bathrooms, basements, and other enclosed moisture-prone living spaces.
